Councillors are hereby summoned to attend a meeting of Scotton Parish Council to be held on Thursday 6th July 2023 at 6.00pm in the Village Hall, Northorpe Road, Scotton DN21 3RB. The business to be dealt with at the meeting is listed in the agenda. If you are unable to attend, please notify me of your apology.

5. To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and to consider any requests for dispensation

7. Finance
a. To approve virement of £668.52 from funds c/f 2022-23 to Misc. expenses for payment of Amberol Planter
b. To note income, budget reports and approve payments and expenses.

8. Community Orchard
a. To hear any updates about laying of stone substrate
b. To hear any feedback or interest received concerning creation of raised beds
c. To hear updates about the new plaque at the Orchard and to consider whether guidelines should be introduced with regard to size, spacing, uniformity etc.
9. General allotment matters
10. To discuss hedging at the Pinfold, junction of Crapple Lane
11. To hear any updates about the Commemorative Planter project on Crapple Lane and to consider further actions re. installation, siting, purchase of plants etc.
12. To discuss condition of benches at Kirton Road and Dooks Close and to consider any actions
13. Tree matters
a. To receive clerk’s Tree report
b. To hear any updates about the fallen tree on Beck Lane and to consider what actions could be considered going forward
14. Emergency Planning
To consider how the Parish Council could respond to unexpected events or emergencies outside of the Parish Council’s control i.e. flooding
15. Employment matters
a. To resolve to form an employment committee or working group
b. To nominate and approve at least two councillors to the committee or working group (this cannot include the Chairman of the Council)
c. To consider terms of reference for the committee or working group
16. Resolution – To create a Trustee agreement between Scotton Village Hall and Scotton Parish Council

a. To consider and discuss the suggested resolution considering any financial implications and mutual aims and objectives of both organisations.
b. To vote on the resolution and agree any actions
17. To consider ideas for commemorating 50 years since the formation of Scotton Parish Council (formed 22nd June 1973)
18. To discuss powers and duties of the Parish Council
19. To hear any reports from the Village Hall Management Committee (Cllr. S. Walker)

a. To hear any updates or reports about Councillor Induction and Refresher training held 14th June 2023 6pm – 9pm
b. To consider joining the LALC core training scheme at a reduced rate of £85.00 expiry 31st March 2024
