Councillors are hereby summoned to attend a meeting of Scotton Parish Council to be held on Thursday 2nd November 2023 at 6.00pm in the Village Hall, Northorpe Road, Scotton DN21 3RB. The business to be dealt with at the meeting is listed in the agenda. 6. To receive and approve notes of the meeting held 7th September 2023

7.  To receive applications for the office of Parish councillor and to co-opt a candidate/s to fill the existing vacancies

8. Finance
a. To note financial information including incoming funds
b. To consider and approve payments and expenses
c.  To consider Cllr. R. Walker’s request to purchase unused surpluses of soil and agree any actions.
For information the purchase costs to Cllr. Walker would be:

  • 6 bags Compost £30.24
  • 3 bags top soil £13.50

Should Council vote to accept the request the clerk will raise an invoice for £43.74 to be sent to Cllr. R. Walker.
d. Bank Account Signatories - to remove Cllr. R. Littlewood from the mandate and consider the addition of signatories to the account
9. Preliminary Budget 2024-25
To discuss budget requirements for the next financial year considering anticipated costs
10. Setting the Precept 2024-25
To discuss the precept demand considering expenses, planned or on-going projects and a calculation of the costs to tax payers
11. Flooding
a. To discuss the flooding on Beck Lane and consider any actions
b. To hear any other concerns regarding flooding in the village and consider any actions
12. Community Orchard
a. To hear any general updates (Cllr. R. Walker)
b. To hear any updates about the request to plant a tree and erect a plaque in remembrance at the Orchard (Cllr. R. Walker)

b. To hear any updates regarding audit of trees at allotment land adjoining PROW by site wardens
