Scotton Parish Council is made up of seven elected members - comprising the Chair, Vice-Chair (if one is elected) and five members - all unpaid who work for the benefit of the community and all local residents. Councillors are elected for a four year term and the present council membership was formed in July 2019.

The Parish Council is fully accountable and subject to detailed audit.

The Clerk to the Parish Council is a paid, part-time employee.

Meetings of Scotton Parish Council are held monthly, except during August, and are normally on the first Thursday of each month in the Village Hall, Northorpe Road, Scotton DN21 3RB commencing at 6:00pm. Residents may attend meetings and speak on parish matters during the first 15 minutes of the public forum.
