June 1st Annual Parish Meeting

Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held 1st June 2023 in the Village Hall, Northorpe Road, Scotton DN21 3RB at 6.00pm

 

In attendance: Cllr. R. Walker (Chairman) Scotton Parish Council, Mrs L. Cooper (Clerk & RFO) – Scotton Parish Council, Mrs D. Butler - Scotton W.I., Cllr. S. Walker - Village Hall Booking Secretary & Parish Councillor, and Cllr. K. Carless (District Councillor)

 

There were 2 members of the public.

 

  1. Cllr. Walker welcomed everyone to the meeting.
  2. Apologies were received from Gainsborough Police.
  3. The notes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on 5th May 2022 were approved and signed as minutes.
  4. The chairman gave a brief report describing the work of the Parish Council over the past year and thanked Councillors, (past and present), and the clerk for their work over the year.
  5. Gainsborough Police were unable to attend but Inspector M. Head sent the following updates: -
  • PC Shaw had retired, and it would be a few weeks before a new beat manager was recruited
  • Gainsborough Police would undergo significant organisational changes aimed at addressing policing challenges and optimizing available funding. These changes would be implemented within the next year to enhance operational efficiency and adaptability to current policing needs.
  • A brief of recorded crimes 01/01/22 – 22/05/23
  1. Mrs D. Butler gave a report on behalf of the W.I.
  2. Cllr. S. Walker read out the Annual Village Hall report.
  3. Local organisations were given the opportunity to speak in this part of the meeting but there were none.
  4. Open floor – No comments were raised.
  5. The chairman thanked everyone for attending.

 

The meeting closed at 6.15pm.
